less sensitive to local features.
Responses to object stimuli (A) were examined for cells recorded from Spot A shown in the previous panel. The cells were not sensitive to color, texture, and local shapes, that are essential to characterize local features (B). This is not because different cells respond to different stimulus. C indicates the top four stimuli for one cell, and the same tendency was found in B. The numbers on the left upper corner indicate firing rates elicited by the stimuli. They are not significantly different.
