Functional Optical Coherence Tomogrpahy operating on the principle of an interferometer revealing two examples of  columnar organization across depth.  In V1 maps obtained from cats, red and blue regions respectively indicate horizontal and vertical grating selective areas.  In olfactory maps obtained from rats, specific glomeruli (in arrows) activated depending on the smell stimuli presented.
