Job Opportunities
The Heddle lab has occasional opportunities for both postdoctoral researchers and PhD students. We are currently pursuing projects in a wide variety of topics including bionanotechnology (protein engineering, molecular biology, DNA origami, organic chemistry), classical biochemistry (molecular biology, enzymology), structural biology (protein X-ray crystallography) and aging research (evolutionary biology, stem cell biology, Drosophila work). Some of the program outlined below have high success rates and candidates with experience in one or more of these fields are encouraged to contact the lab for further information.
As well as external funding, the following schemes are available at RIKEN:
For foreign postdoctoral researchers:
- RIKEN Foreign Postdoctoral Researcher (FPR)
This is a very well-funded postdoctoral fellowship from RIKEN for non-Japanese candidates. The next deadline for applications will be around August 2011 to start work in Spring of 2012. See link for more details. - Japanese Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) Postdoctoral Fellowship Program for Foreign Researchers
