Summer camp in Karuizawa. (2007.08.03)
A party was held at a restaurant in Hiroo in commemoration of Chief scientist Dr. Mizuo Maeda receiving the "The Commendation for Science and Technology by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology". 30 Ph.D.s attended the party and celebrated his success. (2007.04.28)
The Bioengineering laboratory participated in the open house of RIKEN and presented ongoing research in the lab. (2007.04.21)
Chief scientist Dr. Mizuo Maeda has recieved the "Prize for Science and Technology in the the Research Category" as "The Commendation for Science and Technology by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (2007)". (2007.04.17)
Chief scientist Dr. Mizuo Maeda is teaching the Advanced Materials course at the Department of Advanced Materials Science, Graduate School of Frontier Sciences, The University of Tokyo. Graduate students of the course can conduct research for their degree here at the RIKEN Bioengineering laboratory.

Visiting scientist Dr. Jun Nakanishi and coworkers have recieved the "Innovation award (2006)" from The Japan Society for Analytical Chemistry (JSAC). (2006年8月)
Chief scientist Dr. Mizuo Maeda is teaching the Advanced Materials course at the Department of Advanced Materials Science, Graduate School of Frontier Sciences, The University of Tokyo. Graduate students of the course can conduct research for their degree here at the RIKEN Bioengineering laboratory.
Special postdoctoral researcher Dr. Masaki Ihara has received a poster award at the "Green sustainabel chemistry symposium (2006)".

Dr. Yoshihiko Murakami (prior special postdoctoral researcher) has received the "Prize for encouragement (2005)" from the Soceity of Chemical Engineers, Japan.
Chief scientist Dr. Mizuo Maeda thanks everyone for receiving the "Award of the Society of Polymer Science, Japan (2005)".
