I first explain the concept of electronic nematic order. It can be obtained from a Pomeranchuk instability and I summarize its relevance to experiments. I then address a question, "what is the single-particle excitation spectrum near the nematic instability?", and provide non-perturbative results for that. Please see PRL 108, 186405 (2012).
