Development of Heterodyne-Detected Sum Frequency Generation
Sum Frequency Generation (SFG) is widely used as an interface-selective spectroscopic technique. A conventional SFG technique can give only an absolute square of χ(2) because of homodyne detection. We are newly developing heterodyne-detected SFG (HD-SFG). This new technique can give complex χ(2), which allows us to obtain very detailed information about interfacial molecular structure.
